MARIA MORLA 

Maria is a Colombian art director, creative producer and multidisciplinary designer  who works across many mediums from digital and branding to set design and interiors. 

 

She studied Architecture and Design in her natal Colombia followed by a Masters degree in Fine arts of Interior Design at  The New  School of Interior Design in New York. She has studies in prop  and fashion Styling and color and composition from the School of Visual Arts in New York. 

 

She gained valuable insight into creative direction through her extensive interdisciplinary practice.  She has designed and led the art direction for short films, Tv shows, Music Videos and commercials. 

 

Her experience creative direction and in set design,  includes brands such as ZARA, DOVE, INDITEX, CUROLOGY, CARTER'S, COMPLEX MUSIC, WARNER MUSIC , PIGEONS & PLANES, ONERPM, KIDZ BOP, TAPESTRY, COACH, KATE SPADE, PHILIP MORRIS, KENWOOD, CHIVAS REGAL, ENCANTOS MEDIA, NICK JR, CONDE NAST, SILVIA TCHERASSI BRAND, SNAPCHAT INC,  AMAZON, SHARP ENTERTAINMENT, BEIJING TV, CMT NETWORK, OESCHLE, BRAVO TV, AND NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY among others. 

 

Maria developed interior projects while working for renowned studios such as Bosch Architecture and Josh Held design both based in New York. Her interior design work include brands such us W Hotel Midtown and PHD Dream Hotel. 

 

In 2018 she became the Artistic and Creative Director for 3018 Man Vs Future Snapchat Original, staring Comedian Nore Daves; series broadcasted on Snapchat Tv and Sponsored by Intel.  

 

As production designer she has worked for award winning productions including “Lordemani Documentary” and the the sci-fi film “237NP” starring the Sundance award winner Kika Magallanes. Both films have gone on to receive international awards and have been highly  acclaimed in major film festivals around the world including the legendary Houston Worldfest. Specifically, Maria’s work received the award for Best Art Direction and Production Design for “273NP” at K-lidoscopi International Film Festival in Spain and at The Logcinema Arts Films in LA for Best Set Design. She was nominated for Best Production Design for “237NP” at Utah International Film Festival one of the most important film festival in the US. 

 

In 2019 worked for “The Sara Show” for Beijing TV, “The Sara Show” has a local audience of 25 million and an overseas reach to 100 countries. The Sara Show is a lifestyle interview show and takes the audience into the lives of renown men and women from around the world who share their work and lifestyle, as well as own health and wellness routine. Sara interviewed guests at their home and shared some interesting local things. Confirmed guests included Jessica Alba, Wagner Eleuteri, Aerin Lauder, Adrianne Ho, Anita Leung Fung Yee, Alex Huatian, Ariana Huffington, Ariana Rockefeller, Cesar Millan, Chen Man, Jean Georges, Jiang Qionger, Mani Fok, Marie Kondo, and more.

 

 

As a branding and conceptual designer, she has developed full 360-degree concept designs for major live events and productions including the My Hero Gala, Aid for Aids held at The New York Public Library .  

 

She now runs her own studio, Studio Nomade where she and her partner deliver highly engaging environments, concepts and event experiences with clients in the commercial, residential and hospitality sectors. Her studio is driven by principles of authenticity and genuine respect for research gathering, capabilities range from concept generation to complete design and execution. 

 

She is the Art Director and Co -Owner at Cinexin Studio, a production company based in New york. She is also a Partner and cofounder at 100 Sutton Studios, a production facility in Brooklyn.
